Kim Delaney was an American actress from America. The actress is best known for her role as detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she won an Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her performances in the drama All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. She was born as the only child to a senior executive of the United Auto Workers and a housewife, Delaney was raised with four brothers. Although she was a child with a dream of becoming journalist, it wasn't until the time of her high school days that Delaney began to model. When she moved from New York City and gaining an experience working in commercials in New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. Her first role as an actor was as a teen innocent in All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. Delaney's career has been filled with numerous television films and dramas. In contrast to her career success, her personal life is not happy and prosperous. The talented actress has struggled with alcoholism throughout her life and has been through two marriages that failed. In 2005, she lost custody of the sole child she was born with.
